The awesome thing about growing shellfish is that we use what Mother Nature gives us to grow food that's incredibly healthful and delicious.  It's working in balance with Mother Nature to grow amazing food.

We use the tide to tumble our oysters, which really captures the flavor of the bay in a clean crisp manner.  We can get our oyster quickly from the bay to our customers to maintain that fresh flavor.

An oyster tastes like the water that it was grown in and the farming method the oysterman chooses to use in that water.  It's the flavor of the earth, the water we farm in.  Water quality is important, so we hope that by sharing this gift from the bay with you, it gives you inspiration to think about the waters around you, so we can all continue growing oysters for generations.

We proudly farm in the most sustainable methods we can.  Providing jobs and delicious shellfish is our passion.  We have a sustainability certification from Food Alliance.  We are active members of Pacific Coast Shellfish Growers Association and the community we live in.

Chelsea Farms Grows Pacific Oyster and Manila Clams

Growing this variety of shellfish uses our whole beach to its full capacity.   Shellfish eat phytoplankton, which grows naturally in abundance in Puget Sound.  We never have to feed them, give them hormones, antibiotics or ever use pesticides.  They are tiny filter feeders of deliciousness.
